A reminder for all schools. This year we have introduced a new addition to our scheduled events and teaching timetable. Normal instrumental lessons including Whole Class tuition in schools and ensemble rehearsals will not take place that week. (The information and dates for our Red Weeks was in the SLA and published in our brochure) Instead we will be undertaking a series of exciting events in schools including workshops eg. Gingerbread Man, The Adventures of Mr String, Junk Funk, Electronic Music, Samba, Meet the Strings, Indian Music, Bear Hunt.
We’ve also got cluster events with several schools involved, “Band in a Day” where all musicians in a school rehearse and perform in a massed ensemble form scratch in just one day. Our Staff will be performing concerts during the week, and we have internal Music Service Grade 1 exams taking place. On the Monday and Tuesday evenings we have parents evenings and will also be meeting with the School Improvement team amd Primary Leads for Music.
