National Youth Orchestra Inspire

Birmingham, 15 March 2020
Newcastle, 22 March 2020

We are excited to let you know that applications for our next two NYO Inspire Days are now open. Our NYO Inspire Days will take place on Sunday 15 March in Birmingham and Sunday 22 March in Newcastle. We are also pleased to offer an additional opportunity for violinists (15 March) and clarinettists (22 March) to take part in instrument-specific ensembles.
Who can apply?
NYO Inspire provides orchestral opportunities to musicians underrepresented in the sector, which is why applications are only open to Black and minority ethnic (BME) musicians or musicians who are state-educated or home-schooled. Musicians must be aged 13-18 and playing at Grade 6 standard or above. NYO Inspire is FREE to all who take part.
Please find attached an e-flyer with details. Further information and the application form can be found at nyo.org.uk/inspireday
Applications close on Monday 3 February.
What is an NYO Inspire Day?
Focussed on peer learning and sharing with musicians from the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, NYO Inspire Days are a fantastic opportunity for young musicians to play as part of a full 120-piece symphonic orchestra or instrument ensembles alongside NYO, take part in a series of workshops and rehearsals, and develop ensemble playing skills. In addition our instrument-specific ensembles offer young musicians the opportunity to explore their instrument through ensemble playing working with our roster of tutors and NYO musicians. All the music prepared will be performed at the end of the day.
