Rock and Pop Band Night – Wednesdays at WMS

Last term, Wolverhampton Music Service launched its newest group; the Rock and Pop group.
This gives young people who play Rock and Pop music a chance to hone their skills by playing together in a group. They learn how to play their instrument, be it guitar, vocals, drums or keyboard, in a way that is sensitive to the band context and ‘serves the song’. They will also learn performance skills and recording techniques.
We have three bands formed so far, who are learning a wide range of music from the classic Proto Rock of the Kinks to Alt-Pop favourites Twenty One Pilots. They are working hard towards their first performance on Thursday 12th March at the Newhampton Arts Centre. This will be a special showcase of Rock and Pop music, alongside bands from Sandwell, Dudley and Walsall, as part of the Big Month of Music.
