John Barker was a previous Head of the Wolverhampton Music Service in the 1970’s. The bursary was set up in his name to support students intending to pursue Music in further education (Including Music Technology) Any year 13 student moving on to further education to study Music is eligible to apply for an award. The award is to help purchase equipment or books required for or to support the pursuance of their chosen course.
The award is also open to post-graduate students. Applications need to be supported by letter /statement from student’s head of music/headteacher/ univesrity/college lecturer/tutor.
