Singing In The Rain & links to the Commonwealth Games & resources for all schools 2022!
“The forecast is looking good for this May and the return of the ever popular ‘Singing In The Rain’ mass singing event!”
With over 30 Primary and Special Schools now involved and with 2 concerts across the day, this years event is bigger, better and will be louder than ever before! After a couple of challenging years we can’t think of a better way to improve well being than to bring young people together for a celebration of singing.
Not only will schools be performing 5 songs together with a live Music Service band, we will also be be performing a specially composed piece based on the upcoming Commonwealth Games. The concert will also feature an appearance of a Commonwealth torch replica, hand made by a local teacher, making this an excellent opportunity for the pupils involved to learn more about the upcoming games and the spirit and values of the Commonwealth.
We can’t wait to see you all in Queen’s Square and get those voices soaring across the whole of Wolverhampton.
If you would like any additional information about the event, or if you would like to receive some links for all of the material and resources being covered even if you’re not taking part this year, please get in touch with Paul Wilcox, Hub Partner and Primary Singing Coordinator at [email protected].
