Many of our Music service ensembles are having open rehearsals in December. Some are perparing some fun seasonal music, others are showcasing where they are at with the music in preparation for their concerts in March! Those groups with open rehearsals are distributing letters to parents this week and next to allow them to pop along and have a look!

In the meantime the Youth Orchestra and Youth Wind Orchestra have a concert at Colton Hills  Details below

CHRISTMAS CONCERT – Colton Hills School Theatre.

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to our annual festive concert!  The programme will comprise of light-hearted and more serious items from both orchestras, including music by Von Suppe, Mozart and Shostakovich.  There will also be opportunities for us to listen to some of our favourite carols and to indulge in mince pies and a glass of sherry. There will be afternoon rehearsals at Colton Hills. The Wind Orchestra will rehearse at 2pm and The Youth Orchestra will rehearse at 3pm.

We will be supported in this concert by the Friends of the Music Service. This charitable body of parents, supporters and volunteers fundraise annually to support the ensembles and are becoming a vital part of our work in very challenging times. This year we have decided not to sell tickets for the concert. Instead, we would ask that you bring funds to take part in the raffle and to consider making a donation to our ongoing work when you leave. The Friends have been preparing for the concert and will have donation buckets and prizes at the ready! The concert is always a popular event. While we are sure that we will have enough space for everyone, we recommend bringing elderly relatives and children a little early to ensure adequate seating is available. We very much look forward to seeing you.

Yours sincerely

Ciaran O’ Donnell
