WOLVERHAMPTON MUSIC SERVICE LAUNCHES
‘WINTER MUSIC FESTIVAL  DECEMBER & JANUARY 2020

• Wolverhampton Music Service launches a ‘Winter Music Festival’ for young people across the city
• Members of the 13 bands, orchestras and ensembles run by the Music Service will be invited to take part
• The aim is to reconnect and inspire young musicians to make music together

A brand new Winter Music Festival is being launched by Wolverhampton Music Service, to run across November and December. Members of 13 bands, orchestras and ensembles are being invited to take part and their performances will be showcased digitally each Friday during December.

Head of Wolverhampton Music Service, Ciaran O’Donnell said “We hope that the Winter Music Festival will inspire our young people to once again experience the simple and enjoyable pleasure of making music together.”

Recorded by young musicians separately at home, performances will include a mixture of Christmas and other music – offering young musicians the chance to explore a variety of suitably challenging and enjoyable repertoire. The first performance of the festival will be released on the Music Service’s YouTube channel on Friday 4th December.

Mr O’Donnell added “We all know that music, more than any other art form, has the power to give us an immediate emotional boost, so this may be just what many of us need this winter.”

The first performance of the festival will be released on the Music Service’s YouTube channel on Friday 4th December.
