In November we had our first two network meetings of the year for staff working in Schools in the City. Attendance at both events was exceptional with over 40 primary and 10 secondary schools represented showing the commitment schools have in the City to delivering effective Music education.
For the Primary meeting we presented information about the new “Deep Dive” OFSTED inspections and how these work in relation to Music.This will be followed up with termly meetings thoughout the year wth content arising from school responses and suggestions.
For the Secondary meeting we welcomed Dr Antony Anderson form Birmingham City University who presented a valuable 
session on Curriculum building. Our next Secondary meeting will be with a Film/TV composer and Talia Lash Education & Community Manager from the London Philharmonic Orchestra. We have opened this meeting to schools around the West Midlands and already have 5 joining us from outside the city for this exciting event.

We are looking to set up more network meetings and events specifically for Special schools in the city in consultation with Lucy Burden our Special school representative on the Hub board.
