The Stringcredibles work to ‘Elevate’ student progress – Saturday 14th November

Back in 2018, Wolverhampton Music Service was awarded £10,000 by the Associated Board of the Royal School’s of Music (ABRSM) to run a fast track programme for students. Unfortunately COVID 19 delayed anything ‘fast’ about this exciting project but we were able to begin the project in September this year.

The Music Service designed a new instrumental teaching programme called Elevate that would give 30 identified students in Music Service ensembles access to weekly lessons with a specialist teacher, concert experiences with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, exam preparation, performance opportunities and support in developing ‘performance skills’.

The Stringcredibles are a quartet of CBSO musicians that specialise in developing high level performing skills – dealing with nerves and making connections with the audience. On Saturday 14th November, our Elevate students had their first Stringcredibles session. Watch this space for further developments as our identified students continue on this programme of study through the year. It will be evaluated and feed into the ABRSMs ongoing programmes of support nationally.
