Music Leads from Heath Park and one of its feeder primary schools, Trinity CofE, have worked together this year to understand each other’s priorities. The aim was to join up the musical learning to enhance the transition from Year 6 to Year 7.
This culminated in a collaborative musical performance on Wednesday 21st June. Claudie Leary from Heath Park, and Martin Chance from Trinity CofE, both representatives on the Hub Advisory Board, visited each other in the run up to the concert to get an idea of the music provision in each school.
The first ‘Inspire’ concert was a huge success and is set to be repeated annually. The event gave the primary school children from Trinity a chance to perform in front of an audience and the Heath Park students to see how much they have developed as musicians since they left primary school. Some of the students, who were from year 4 to 9, had never performed in front of an audience before.
