Grade 8 + musicians needed for the premier of “The Sacred Grove” in Bimingham

A Producing Committee are putting together the Premier of a musical production called The Sacred Grove: a commemorative work in celebration of the life of Joseph Smith, a leading religious figure in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The production has been composed in Birmingham and is in celebration of 200 years since the life of Joseph Smith.They are recruiting vocalists and musicians who would be interested in getting involved in this opportunity. Details are provided below:

Orchestra:
Full strings
2 Flutes, Piccolo, 2 Oboes, 2 Clarinets, 2 Bassoons
2 Trumpets, 3 Horns, Trombone
Piano
Harp
2 Guitars, Bass Guitar
Drum Kit
Orchestral Percussion
Orchestral auditions will not be held but a minimum standard of Grade 8 is required, as well as previous orchestral experience as there will be limited rehearsal time.

Rehearsals and performances
All rehearsals and performances will be held in Harborne at
38-42 Lordswood Road, Birmingham B17 9QS on the following dates:
Saturday 14th March – choir: 9am-5pm; orchestra 10am-5pm
Saturday 11th April – choir 9am-5pm; orchestra 10am-5pm
Friday 24th April – 7pm-9pm
Saturday 25th April – times to be confirmed

There will be 2 performances on Saturday 25th April at 2.30pm and 6.30pm.

All participation is voluntary, with potential for travel costs to be reimbursed (tbc). ”
