This annual award is for state schools (primary and secondary) that either already have an orchestra or are in the process of trying to establish a school orchestra. The award will support music education in schools and should be used to create a self-sustaining environment enabling more pupils to access music making. Applicants for this award will need to demonstrate how the award will expand their existing music education programme and how it could involve the whole school and the wider community in benefitting from music making. A grant of up to £8,000 is available for this award.
