Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

Wolverhampton Music Service EDI Champions Group is now 1 year old, and we are celebrating by sharing this key message;EDI statement graphic FB new (003)

This expression of our commitment to inclusion was developed through consultation with the EDI Champions Group, and is endorsed by all Music Service teachers and Wolverhampton Music Education Hub partners.

Music Service EDI Champions are committed to

  • learning more about Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
  • identifying and challenging barriers to inclusion, both within our organisation and our work in music education, and working to make change happen
  • sharing our knowledge and promoting values around inclusive practice with others in our organisation, and encouraging conversations which involve everyone in our learning
  • ensuring that there is equity in the opportunities for our young musicians regardless of race; gender; where they live; their levels of musical talent; parental income; whether they have special educational needs and whether they are children or young people in care
  • celebrating diversity within our organisation, our work in music education and in promoting a diverse range of musical opportunities and experiences which are relevant and accessible to our young musicians across our city
