Wolverhampton Symphony Orchestra

Wolverhampton Symphony Orchestra will be performing on Saturday 18th March 2023. There will be music by Schubert (Unfinished Symphony), Faure (Pavane) and Stravinsky (1st Symphony).

There will also be the first ever performance of a string piece composed in 1947 by John Locke, for which funding has been offered.

It is great to report the increase in numbers in the string section, and especially those who have joined us from the Wolverhampton Youth Orchestra. One of our new members Matthew Potts has been taking some rehearsals of the Schubert Symphony as a conductor training exercise.

It was great to see so many Music School musicians attending the Flute workshop by Leila Hooton, joint funded between the Music Service and Wolverhampton Symphony Orchestra in our first concert entirely devoted to women composers.
