The Black Country Music Hub
From September 2024, Wolverhampton Music Service joined a formal collaboration with Dudley Performing Arts Service , SIPS Music Service and Walsall Music Education Service. This formal collaboration is now the overarching Black Country Music Hub led by Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council.
Background
In June 2022, the government published a new National Plan for Music Education, for implementation in September 2023. The Power of Music to Change Lives: A National Plan for Music Education, sets out a vision for Music Education up to 2030. The plan This vision is: To enable all children and young people to learn to sing, play an instrument and create music together, and have the opportunity to progress their musical interests and talents, including professionally.
The Black Country Music Education Hub
From September 2024, Wolverhampton Music Service joined a formal collaboration with Dudley Performing Arts Service, SIPS Music Service and Walsall Music Education Service. This formal collaboration is now the overarching Black Country Music Hub led by Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council. It is the legal group of Music Services that will deliver the National Plan for Music Education in the region.
The Hub will deliver against three aims as set out in the National Plan for Music Education (NPME), published in 2022:
- To support schools and other education settings to deliver high-quality music education
- To support young people to further develop their musical interests and talent, including into employment
- To support all children and young people to engage with a range of musical opportunities in and out of school

Wolverhampton Music Service
Wolverhampton Music Service is the Lead Delivery Partner in the new Black Country Music Hub. It will deliver the aims of the plan locally for children and schools in Wolverhampton.
Along with its partner organisations, the Music Hub strives to provide a high quality, broad and inclusive offer of support for music education to schools and young people across Wolverhampton.

Azaad Arts

We promote and practise cultural heritage through Punjabi Folk Music and dance. Our work includes education, training, consultancy and performance, enriching diversity and inclusion through various partnerships and projects.
We develop and deliver a range of innovative arts-based workshops, programmes, and projects to educate and empower people and groups throughout the community.
Azaad Arts is a Community Group which is dedicated to the development and music education of young people through Punjabi Folk music and projects.

Big Top
Big Top is a specialist provider of music services for young people with SEND.
We have developed an inclusive offer in partnership that can be viewed HERE: https://www.bigtopmusic.co.uk/wolverhampton
In partnership with Wolverhampton Music Service, Big Top deliver a variety of music-making sessions for children and young people with learning disabilities who live, or attend a school, in Wolverhampton.
All sessions take place at Action for Independence (A4I) Albert Road, Wolverhampton WV6 0AF.
The venue is fully accessible and hoist-changing facilities are available.
Sessions are designed to support the music-making of specific needs and disabilities. Please reserve a space in the most suitable session for your child/young person.
All children and young people should be accompanied by a parent/carer. Siblings are welcome.
