Azaad Arts showcase their talents at local events

‘Light’ Chapel Ash Public Art Project

Bhangra Fusion Percussion took part in an outdoor performance in February for the Asylum Art Gallery. The event was a showcase of what artist David Checkley has been working on and to celebrate their first artist residency with performances by West Midlands artists, who are responding to the theme of light.

The students all performed well and a few Intermediate Dhol Players also joined in with the Senior Dhol Players which was a new and exciting experience for them!

Modern Music Production Classes

Azaad Arts run ‘Modern Music Production’ classes at the Music School on Wednesday evenings, 6-8pm. Students learn a variety of skills from recording their own music for their band to learning how to be an Audio Engineer and Mix/Master full songs. There is still space on the course for more students – click here to register.

Concerts

Azaad Arts featured in the ‘Be Inspired’ Concerts at The Halls in Wolverhampton. A rendition of ‘Jai Ho’ was accompanied by a solo on the Dhol from Aman and it seems that all of the audience enjoyed the whole performance thoroughly.

The Bhangra Fusion students also performed their various routines and solos in March at a ‘Be Inspired’ concert. Students all performed fantastically and displayed just how much they have progressed since their previous performances in the winter term. They will now work on refining their solos and routines ahead of their summer concerts.
